In consideration of you accepting this entry, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound and hereby waive or release any and all right and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Event Director, Second Chance Pet Adoptions, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives and employees, for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me, or my dog, before, during, or after the event. I recognize, intend, and understand that this release is binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees. I also authorize the use of photographs or videos that include my image for promotional, informational, or other reasons deemed to be in the best interest of the event.I certify as a material condition to my being permitted to enter this race that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my physical condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I also certify as a material condition to my dog being permitted to participate in the race or walk, that I am aware of no physical or medical limitation that prevents my dog from doing so, and that I have consulted my veterinarian to ensure my dog’s health status prior to this event. I understand that attending this event may put me and my loved ones, including my pets, at risk of contracting COVID-19. In the event that I contract the coronavirus and/or infect others post-event, I cannot hold Second Chance Pet Adoptions responsible, nor can those I infect.By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to this waiver.

While some of the animals we rescue require extra medical care and surgery, all will incur routine costs such as food ($15-$40), testing ($15), vaccinations ($15-20), defleaing and dewormer ($20-$70), and microchipping ($7.50). Additionally, all of our animals are spayed or neutered before adoption, with costs for cats and dogs ranging up to $159 each. In total, the average cat in our program needs $230 worth of care, while the average dog needs $750 worth of care.
As an independent nonprofit organization that receives no government funding or support from national rescues, Second Chance can only provide this care thanks to our generous fundraisers and donors.
